Stemming from a 3 year funded South Yorkshire Disability Sport Development Officer post created in partnership with FDSO, South Yorkshire Sport now have an Equity lead embedded within their core team. Michelle Dent is Partnership Development Officer – Equity.
Michelle is the South Yorkshire Strategic lead for Equity projects including the Disability Sport Network. Locally in South Yorkshire they’re fortunate to have 4 full time local disability officers one covering each of the local authority areas. The officers lead on local forums with one taking place in each area allowing; information sharing, planning of programmes and problem solving uniting for a county level strategic action group.
