Disport is a member organisation of the Yorkshire based charity, The Federation of Disability Sports Organisations. Disport is the member organisation that represents people with a Learning Disability. Disport has its own committee, made up of representatives from schools, colleges and adult training centres which cater for people with a learning disability; plus retired members, who have a wealth of experience in sports development, and/or learning disability.

Disability Sport England - Yorkshire DSE Yorkshire represent predominantly people with a physical disability. It is a member organisation of the Yorkshire charity, The Federation of Disability Sports Organisations. A Committee of eight members, made up of representatives from throughout the county run the organisation in addition to Sally Evans, FDSO Regional Resource Officer. Deaf Sport in Yorkshire The FDSO, has employed Colin Macdonald as Regional Resource Officer (Sport Development for Deaf People) since 1993 Colin was the first Deaf Person as Sports Development Officer in UK.
With the instability of the Yorkshire Deaf Sport Council, the YDSC review has been taking a fresh look at what the future holds. Now sports specific structure is taking a strategic approach.
The FDSO Deaf Officer is in the progress of establishing a new development forum under FDSO as this fits ideally within Sport England Disability (Deaf) programme under the UK Deaf Sport/ EFDS.

British Blind Sport Advisory Group - Yorkshire The Blind Sport Advisory Group (BSAG) was formed in 1996 and meet approximately every 3 months. Their purpose is to provide a lead position on priorities each year for the Regional Resource Officer, and encourage participation within blind sport for the Yorkshire region. We are actively seeking new members and would like to hear from anyone who would like to help direct blind sport in Yorkshire.
